I launched a mobile version of Walking Dead Supplies so that no matter where you are, you can order supplies and survive the zombie apocalypse. The mobile version has its own URL mobilezombie.isalesmart.com. The Apple Touch Icon for the mobile site is our mascot, zombie girl. If you have an iOS device, you can add her to your home screen and create a direct link. Not to worry, if you are accessing Walking Dead Supplies via a mobile device, the site will automatically detect that and send you to the mobile site.

Before I could say anything, the guy started quickly talking.
“Your generator is the only thing making noise for miles around. You’re lucky you didn’t attract more walkers. We had been watching this building for a few days now hoping that someone would come out. We were almost ready to move on when you appeared” Continue reading
Continued from Zombie Apocalypse Week 4, Part 1
There I was hiding from two zombies that looked like rejects from the Bolshoi ballet. They had obviously seen better days. The ballerina had most of her right side missing and entrails are escaping from the wound. The guy was missing one eye and had a gaping wound on his arm. How the heck did they get way out here? All I could figure was that one of the warehouses must have been used for ballet practice. Good thing I was inside a fenced in area.
I didn’t want to attract any attention so I was hoping that they would shamble right past me but no such luck. Just as they were almost past, the guy swiveled his head my direction and started moaning. That was all it took for the ballerina to follow suite. Next thing I knew they were both plastered against the fence. I needed to get back inside the NOC before they attracted more. I lured them over to the side of the fence as far away from the gate as I could get them then sprinted to the gate, got out, and locked it. Continue reading
My, how time flies when you’re having fun! Looks like this mess will take a lot longer for things to get back to normal than I had thought. Yes, I’m an eternal optimist. Even in the face of the apocalypse, I assume that things will get better. The power grid finally failed so the NOC has been on generator power for the last few days. I had already turned everything off that I could turn off and made sure that only one generator would come on when the power failed. So far, so good.
I’ve been insulated from everything in here and feel removed from what has been happening. I know that it must be horrific for everyone else but, for me, the enormity of it hasn’t sunk in. Whether looking at broadcast TV, the security monitors, or the Internet, it all doesn’t seem real. I’m going to have to go outside soon to check on the generators and I need to make sure I’m not caught off guard. I need to be prepared just in case I have my first face to face encounter.
I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead TV series! While in between seasons, I decided to begin reading The Walking Dead comics. Wow! Am I glad I did. The Walking Dead Compendium One is a great introduction to the saga. Here is Amazon’s description of it:
Introducing the first eight volumes of the fan-favorite, New York Times Best Seller series collected into one massive paperback collection! Collects The Walking Dead #1-48. This is the perfect collection for any fan of the Emmy Award-winning television series on AMC: over one thousand pages chronicling the beginning of Robert Kirkman”s Eisner Award-winning continuing story of survival horror- from Rick Grimes” waking up alone in a hospital, to him and his family seeking solace on Hershel’s farm, and the controversial introduction of Woodbury despot: The Governor. In a world ruled by the dead, we are finally forced to finally start living.
The comics are a little disorienting because, even though many of the characters are the same as the TV series, many of them act differently or have different relationships with other characters. This isn’t bad, just different. I’m actually glad that the characters and some of the plot is different because it is obvious that the writers for the TV series are taking the story in new directions. Some things are the same but reading the comics won’t spoil seeing the TV series. You will still be left guessing about what is going to happen. The same is true for the comics. Just because you have seen the TV series doesn’t mean that you will know what is going to happen in the comics.
Some reviewers of the TV series think it isn’t as character based as the comics. I couldn’t disagree more. For instance, Shane’s character in the TV series is a much richer character than portrayed in the comics.
The next compendium is scheduled to come out in the fall of 2012. I don’t think I can wait. I already feel compelled to order the next volume in the series.* The Walking Dead Compendium One left me feeling like a zombie, hungry for more.
